Dockwise :: Weblog 2009

On December 3th Dockwise’s secondary listing at Euronext Amsterdam became a reality. This listing at the oldest stock exchange in the world represents the completion of a process of financial repositioning of the company as well as a new beginning with the introduction of Dockwise (ticker DOCKW NL) as a maritime and oil & gas services stock on the Dutch exchange. The listing will - in addition to our primary listing at the Oslo Stock Exchange - make Dockwise shares accessible more easily to a wider audience.

Two Nuclear Powered Submarines – One Exceptional Transport
On June 30th 2009, Dockwise assisted the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs & International Trade and the Russian Navy by managing the transport of two “Viktor III – Class” nuclear powered attack submarines (nr. 282 & nr.300) from their base in Kamchatka to the shipyard in Bolshoy Kamen for dismantlement. Both subs were floated onto the Dockwise owned, heavy-marine transport vessel, Transshelf.

Attributing the word ‘trustworthy’ to a business is a crucial value. Although many might pucker their brow when hearing a word like trustworthy, this value is gaining major importance, especially during the current turbulent times.

When Dockwise implemented the new strategy to expand into transport and installation projects, the need for a project oriented organization was recognized early and the Prince2 methodology adopted.

Dockwise is emerging as a complete, and competent marine transport and installation contractor. We are focused on increasing and leveraging our project management skills and engineering resources in a way that serves our client’s best interests. Building upon our reliable track record and strong reputation, Dockwise is actively moving toward competitive and attractive alternatives to traditional offshore transport and installation methods.

Delivering as Promised! Dockwise’s strategic transformation propels us into the future. In 2009, the theme is deliver and deleverage. This means Dockwise is focused on realizing free cash flows to reduce debt.

Dockwise is evolving into a fully integrated logistical management company able to handle procurement and engineering, as well as complete transportation and installation projects.

I joined Dockwise as the Chief Operations Officer in March 2008, but my history as a Marine Engineer and a Naval Architect date to the very beginnings of this heavy-lift industry.

As we enter this New Year I want to communicate my best wishes for a healthy, safe, environmentally sound and secure 2009. Safety, health, security and the environment are topics on the minds of everyone involved in the global Dockwise operation.
